NSW Climate and Energy Action · Official update: 2026-10-30

NSW CER Installer Portal: November 2026 network rollout

  • Endeavour Energy:from 2 November 2026。
  • Ausgrid / Essential Energy:from 23 November 2026。

Applies to new or upgraded rooftop solar and battery systems up to 200 kW whose DNSP connection applications are submitted and approved from the relevant date. Eligible systems must be commissioned through the portal.

The portal covers CCEW and AEMO DERR steps for these installations. Other electrical work outside this scope still needs a separate CCEW. Emergency Backstop Mechanism (EBM) requirements are phased separately by each network and do not immediately apply to every installation.

IPART · Energy Security Safeguard · PDRS · ACP operations and BESS evidence · 29/09/2026

IPART confirms that the updated battery declaration template must be completed for every BESS1, BESS3, BESS4 and BESS5 implementation. Some ACPs are now accredited for the new battery activities, while high application volumes may delay assessments. FH should replace its controlled template and use the current declaration before creating PRCs. ↗

Clean Energy Regulator · Mid-scale solar · STC eligibility from 1 October · 17/09/2026

Solar PV systems above 100 kW and up to 1 MW installed from 1 October 2026 may qualify for SRES STCs with a fixed five-year deeming period. Applications open in mid-to-late November; compare the STC and REGO pathways before quoting and do not apply residential STC assumptions. ↗

EnergyCo NSW · Grid-scale storage · commissioning · 28/09/2026

Waratah Super Battery is fully operational at 850 MW / 1,680 MWh. This marks an actual NSW grid-scale storage commissioning milestone, not a new project approval or a change to household battery rebates. ↗

NSW Planning · SSD-64834490 · Solar and storage · project approval · 25/09/2026

Brewongle Solar Farm (90 MW with storage) approved on 25 September. Review consent conditions and grid connection milestones before planning delivery; approval does not mean construction or energisation has begun. ↗
